The Association has updated the official competition rules! The official competition rules of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Association are used in the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships. The rules outline different gait types and styles, define how movements should be performed, and specify the required equipment for both horse and rider. Additionally, they include details on penalty points and disqualification reasons.
Dressage
The rules now clarify the number of steps for certain movements, the ideal posture during performances, and reasons for disqualification. For example, a new addition to the freestyle program rules states that any movements performed within the arena boundaries before the salute will now be considered in judging.
Show Jumping
Changes have been made regarding course design, penalty points, and rider equipment. For instance, the allowed number of trot steps has been further specified.
Western Riding
Most updates focus on the horse and rider’s equipment, with additional clarifications on disqualification reasons. The rules now also include illustrated guidelines for rein holding.
