Welcome to the second weekly newsletter of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships!
The goal of the newsletter is to gather all the important announcements from the previous week into one place! This way we can make sure that our announcements aren’t lost in the waves of social media algorithms.
This week we’ve started a whole lot of enrollments for competition classes! The classes have been divided into three groups to make enrollment smoother.
Open classes registration part 1
The first group of open class registrations is now open! 🤩
Following classes are included in part 1:
🔔 Highjumping
🎄 Children’s joy 50 cm (born 2016 or later)
🔔 Open 100 cm
🎄 Open 90 cm
🔔 Open 60 cm
🎄 Open 70 cm
🔔 Open 50 cm
New❗️This year all classes have their own registration form. Make sure when registering if you choose membership price or not.
Registration is not a so-called speed race, but rather the classes will be drawn from among all those who have registered. The draw will be carried out using a proportional draw, meaning that the more categories a competitor registers for in this draw round, the lower their probability of entering any of them.
⚠️ Registration part 1 is open until 1.2.2026. The draw results will be published on 3.2.2026.
Enrollment for merchants begins on 15.12.
The merchant registration will open on December 15th at 6PM (UTC +2)
The merchant spots will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis, so be ready!
There will be four different sizes of merchant tables. More information can be found in our recently published post.
The registration for the merchant tables will happen through our website where you can also find more information about selling in our event!
International freestyle – What and when?
This international dressage class calls for creative, talented riders! Competitors of the International Freestyle class get to design their own program of Grand Prix level and perform it on the championships day. The music played in the background is chosen by the competitor theirself. 🎶
The 15 competitors of the class are chosen in advance via video qualifiers that are open from 1st of December 2025 to 1st of March 2026. Reserve spots are filled based on the points received in the qualifiers.
If this sounds like your class, check our website for instructions and rules, grab your hobbyhorse and head out to film your qualifying video! 🎬
Buckle up cowboy! Western is back.
Guess what?
What?
Arena.
What arena?
Well, the western arena! 💥
Seinäjoki Arena will become like the wild west for the duration of the 2026 Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships, when the class selection will feature not only the familiar and safe Western Horsemanship but also two new additions; precise and tactical Trail, and the speedy Pole bending. From the three different classes, every western riding enthusiast can find something that suits them! 🌪️ Enrollment for the classes begin in the third enrollment group on 14.12.2025.
Our own arena and three classes, the banquet doesn’t get much better than this! Adorn yourselves with stetsons and we’ll catch you at the western arena! 😎
Open classes registration part 2
Registration for open competition classes part 2 is now open. Part 2 includes these classes:
🔔 International 70cm
🎄 International 100-110cm
🔔 International 50cm
🎄 Team Show Jumping 80 cm
New ❗️ This year every class has its own registration form. Please make sure you pick the right one, the one with membership pricing or the one without.
Registration isn’t about speed, but contestants will be chosen by lot. Proportional lot won’t be used in part 2, so you can register for as many classes as you want to without a worry. However, international contestants are prioritized in International classes and will get the spots before Finnish contestants.
⚠️ Registration part 2 will be open until 26.1.2026.
The lot results will be announced on 28.1.2026.
Show classes
The show classes have been renewed this year and now there are three different classes:
🧃Beginners – this class is for horses who haven’t been to shows beforel
🎗️Advanced – this class is for horses who have been to shows and maybe placed before
🏆 Experienced – this class is for horses who have SERT-certificates but haven’t reached “Fn” or “Kep Mva Fn” -titles yet
🏵️ BIS-ring – winners of all classes will qualify, so one can’t register for this separately
⭐️ Show classes are still championship classes, and one can qualify to compete only through qualifiers
⭐️ All classes only accept self-made horses
Go take a look at the new show class rules, register your horse and take pictures as described, and you’re ready to apply! 🌷Registration for show class qualifiers starts on 5.1.2026.
Open classes registration part 3
Registration for open classes part 3 is now open 😊 Part 3 includes these classes:

New❗️This year every class has its own registration form. Please make sure you pick the right one, the one with membership pricing or the one without.
Registration isn’t about speed, but contestants will be chosen by lot. This lot will be proportional, which means that the more classes one applies for in this registration, the smaller their chance is to get into any of them.
⚠️ Registration part 3 is open until 16.2.2026.
The lot results will be published on 19.2.2026.
