Do show classes require some sort of preparation?
I prepared for the show class with the mindset of “Hey it’s an URL-show, yay!”. Most of my time was thus spent waiting for a good photoshoot weather and taking pictures. Once I knew my horse had made it to the finals, the only last-minute preparations I did was carefully packing it for the car ride.

What motivates you to show your horses?
I want to further develop my craftsmanship to be of the highest quality. Show class judges provide valuable feedback for example on the combination of materials used and the breed typicality of the hobbyhorse.
When do you feel like you’ve last failed and succeeded?
It feels like with every horse there is always one failure and one success. With my latest horse I really loved its coloring, but at the same time I wasn’t too happy with its shape. My biggest blunder was definitely when I dropped a pure black horse into white acrylic paint. I’m still most proud about how my sewmanship has gotten tidier over time.

Remember to trust your process <3 Every horse doesn’t have to be success, but making them should always be pleasant. Being in a hurry doesn’t make for a pretty hobbyhorse!
