Finnish Championship classes

The Finnish Championship classes for 2026 have been released!

The Finnish Championship classes are the classes in which the 2026 Finnish Championships are competed. To participate in a championship class, you must be a Finnish citizen. Everyone competing in the final must have a valid SKHH ry membership. There are qualifiers for all Finnish Championship classes. 

Registration for all classes happens in advance. To enter the Finnish Championship classes and International Freestyle, you must participate in the qualifications. The schedule of classes for the event day can be found on the Program page later. The courses and start lists will be updated under each class description. The results will also be posted on this page.

Show jumping

Riders compete for the 2026 Finnish champion -titles in the championship classes. To participate, you must be a Finnish citizen. Everyone competing in the final must have a valid SKHH ry membership. Each championship class has a qualifier round. 

Open Show Jumping Championships 100-110cm (45 starts)

The Finnish Show Jumping Champion 2026 will be decided on a 100-110cm track at the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships. Any Finnish citizen that has earned their spot through qualifying competitions can participate in this championship class. People born in 2014 or later can choose if they want to compete in the open class or the junior class. One is not allowed to compete in both show jumping championship classes. To compete in the championships one needs to be a member of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Association (SKHH ry). You can apply for membership after participating in qualifying competitions and claiming your place at the finals, but your membership fee has to be paid by a given date.

The Show Jumping Championship course includes 100-110cm tall obstacles that will be performed in the given jumping order.

Qualifying competitions will be held all around Finland by hobbyists separate from The Finnish Championships. More detailed information about qualifying competitions you can find on the Show Jumping Championships qualifying competitions -page. The rating method is A.2.0, which, in summary, means that contestants will be ranked first by their penalty points and then by their time. In other words, contestants with no penalty points will place higher than contestants with penalty points regardless of their time. This rating method will also be used in the qualifying competitions.


This class follows the time show jumping rules of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Association (SKHH ry).

In this Show Jumping Championship class, the top five best horses and riders will be placed and given a prize.

Junior Show Jumping Championships (Riders born in 2014 and later) 80cm (45 starts)

The Finnish Junior Show Jumping Champion 2026 will be decided on a 70-80cm track at the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships. Any Finnish citizen born in 2014 or later and has earned their spot through qualifying competitions can participate in this championship class. People born in 2014 or later can also participate in the Open Show Jumping Championship class if they qualify. In this case they cannot participate in the Junior Championships anymore. One is not allowed to compete in both Show Jumping Championship classes. To compete in the championships one needs to be a member of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Association (SKHH ry). You can apply for membership after participating in qualifying competitions and claiming your place at the finals, but your membership fee has to be paid by a given date.

In this Junior Show Jumping Championship class, the top five best horses and riders will be placed and given a prize.

Dressage

Riders compete for the 2026 Finnish champion -titles in the championship classes. To participate, you must be a Finnish citizen. Everyone competing in the final must have a valid SKHH ry membership. Each championship class has a qualifier round.

Open Dressage Championship (10 starts)

The dressage championship is competed with Grand Prix -level course. To participate in this class you must be a Finnish citizen and the finalists must have a valid SKHH ry membership. The membership is not required to enter the qualifier round, therefore you can sign up as a member after you’ve claimed a spot in the finals. If you don’t have a valid membership before the deadline, you’re not eligible to compete in this class. 

Both the qualifying and final rounds are ridden on the A-arena. The competitor can use either a 5x15m, 6x18m or 7x21m arena for the qualification rounds. The final round is ridden on a 7x21m arena.
The qualifying and championship have their own ready-made programs.

Class starting order: the starting order is reversed, the rider with the lowest results from the video qualifications starts first, then the second-lowest, etc. After the best rider from the video qualifications, the winners of the regional championships and Finnish Championship classes start in order of ranking points. The rider with the fewest ranking points starts first and the rider with the most ranking points last in the class. If necessary, the starting order of those competing in the junior show jumping championship can be brought forward.

Those who have been assigned a place in the class will be notified via email about redeeming their place in the competition. The place must be redeemed within two weeks of receiving the email. Remember to also check your spam folder!

The class follows the SKHH ry’s dressage rules.

The top 5 riders will place in the Dressage championship class.

Junior Dressage Championship (born 2012 or later) (10 starts)

The junior dressage championship is competed with Intermediare II -level course. To participate in this class you must be a Finnish citizen and the finalists must have a valid SKHH ry membership. The membership is not required to enter the qualifier round, therefore you can sign up as a member after you’ve claimed a spot in the finals. If you don’t have a valid membership before the deadline, you’re not eligible to compete in this class.

Hobbyhorse show

Riders compete for the 2026 Finnish champion -titles in the championship classes. To participate, you must be a Finnish citizen. Everyone competing in the final must have a valid SKHH ry membership. Each championship class has a qualifier round.

Beginners (self-made)

Beginners-class is meant for new, freshly finished hobby horses that haven’t been to any shows before.

The show classes are open for both mares and stallions. For all classes, the same presenter can register only one horse. Only self-made horses are accepted. Other stick animals aren’t allowed. 

One can compete in the official show classes only through qualifiers. The best horses, in proportion to the number of registered, will be chosen to compete in the Finnish Championships.

The audience favorite-vote includes all the classes’ participants. The audience can vote for their favorite horses of all classes during the day, and in the award ceremony the most voted ones will get the audience favorite-awards. 

The horses in show classes can’t participate in other classes in the event.

Advanced (self-made)

Advanced-class is for hobby horses that have been to shows and maybe placed before.

One can compete in the official show classes only through qualifiers. The best horses, in proportion to the number of registered, will be chosen to compete in the Finnish Championships.

The audience favorite-vote includes all the classes’ participants. The audience can vote for their favorite horses of all classes during the day, and in the award ceremony the most voted ones will get the audience favorite-awards. 

The horses in show classes can’t participate in other classes in the event.

Experienced-class is for horses that have already gathered SERT-certificates but have not yet reached “Fn” or “Kep Mva Fn” -titles

The show classes are open for both mares and stallions. For all classes, the same presenter can register only one horse. Only self-made horses are accepted. Other stick animals aren’t allowed. 

One can compete in the official show classes only through qualifiers. The best horses, in proportion to the number of registered, will be chosen to compete in the Finnish Championships.

The audience favorite-vote includes all the classes’ participants. The audience can vote for their favorite horses of all classes during the day, and in the award ceremony the most voted ones will get the audience favorite-awards. 

The horses in show classes can’t participate in other classes in the event.
