Welcome to the 5th weekly newsletter of the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships!
The goal of the newsletter is to gather all the important announcements from the previous week into one place! This way we can make sure that our announcements aren’t lost in the waves of social media algorithms.
This week we’ve highlighted class enrollments (there are still plenty of starts to go around, hop on board!) and show jumping volunteer applications! This event wouldn’t exist without our awesome volunteers!
Don’t miss out! Join in on our competition classes!
‼️ Registration for the open classes is still open for a few weeks and there is still plenty of space in many classes. So now is still a good chance to register and get a place in the competition class draw! 🔥
The first registration for the open competition classes part 2 will close on January 26th. It includes the following classes:
❄️ International 70cm
⛄️ International 100-110cm
❄️ International 50cm
⛄️ Team Show Jumping 80 cm

The show jumping team needs you!
The showjumping team needs YOU! Are you interested in joining our volunteers in a low threshold position in the upcoming Finnish Championships? Your time has come, our showjumping team is looking for active and enthusiastic volunteers to join us on the competition arenas during the championships. As a showjumping volunteer you can for example work as a flagger, an arena crew member or an assistant ⏱️
The flagger’s job is to mark the start as well as the finnish of the course by giving a sign to the judge as the competitor crosses the line. This ensures a correct and accurate time for every rider on the course 🚩
The arena crew members ensure that the showjumping courses correct and safe flow by fixing and moving fallen poles away from the course and back to their places after every rider. This is to make sure that the course stays the same for all competitors. In addition the arena crew may work as an additional pair of eyes on the course to help the judges grade the competitors 👀
As an assistant you get to help the judges in various ways according to their needs for the class. This might be for example giving sound signals, taking time or writing down the result. Assistants help the judges to ensure a smoothly flowing class and help with the work load 📄
Showjumping volunteers are all signed up to help for 1-2 classes during the competition day. If you are interested don’t wait any longer and sign up through the showjumping volunteer form! 🤩 Volunteering in the show jumping team is a wonderful way to gain experience working on the largest arenas and courses in Finland with a low threshold. Previous experience is useful but not required. The whole showjumping team and the judges will be there to support and help you before and during the competitions to help you succeed. Thank you already in advance for your help, we could not organize this event without all of our wonderful volunteers! 🫶🏼
